Production changes, integration process is accelerated. In 2016, the proportion of standardized large-scale farming reached 53 percent, and over 70 percent of milk sources came from large-scale pastures. The Ministry of Agriculture has guided and supported the establishment of 15,100 specialized dairy farmers' cooperatives, and over 30 percent of dairy enterprises have established their own or participated in the construction of milk source bases, rapidly advancing the integration of the dairy industry.
In the links of acquisition and transportation, we have carried out comprehensive cleaning and rectification of milk stations, strengthened the management of permission of milk stations, reduced the number of milk stations from more than 13,000 in 2012 to 6,500, and significantly improved the infrastructure, mechanical equipment, testing means and personnel quality of milk stations. In the processing link, the production license conditions of dairy products and infant formula milk powder enterprises have been reviewed, a number of enterprises with uncertain milk sources and backward production technology have been eliminated, and infant formula milk powder enterprises have been vigorously promoted to merge and reorganize, optimize the industrial structure, and effectively guarantee the quality and safety of dairy products.

Sales increased steadily, breaking through in international competition. From 2012 to 2016, the sales volume of dairy products increased by 42 percent from 246.54 billion yuan to 35.39 billion yuan. Corporate mergers and reorganizations are intensified, and the industrial concentration is increasing year by year. The quality can be comparable with foreign brands: Junlebao infant milk powder has passed the top certification of global food safety standards; Modern Dairy's liquid milk has won the Gold medal at the World Food Quality Assessment Conference for four consecutive years. Feihe Dairy's infant formula milk powder has won the Gold medal at the World Food Quality Assessment Conference for three consecutive years. China's milk has started a "turnaround".
Dairy enterprises look at the international market and speed up "going out". Yili Group, Mengniu Dairy, Bright Dairy, Beingmate, New Hope and other dairy enterprises have established milk source bases or processing plants in New Zealand, Australia, France, Israel and other countries in the form of investment, acquisition and holding, which significantly improved the global resource integration ability of dairy enterprises.

Create a brand
From Chinese products to Chinese brands

Strong brand, strong agricultural ability. At present, the fresh milk purchase volume of D20 enterprises accounts for 57% of the national total purchase volume, and the dairy sales volume accounts for 55% of the national total. As the backbone of the national dairy industry, D20 has set a benchmark for the development of the industry in terms of dairy quality, brand building and enterprise management.

In the golden age of national brand building, D20 enterprises, as "top students" in the industry, take responsibility and make valiant efforts. Yili established China's first breast milk research database and enterprise breast milk bank, promoting the standardization and institutionalization of China's breast milk bank; Feihe leads brand upgrading with the concept of "more suitable", and brand positioning highlights differentiated needs; Junlebao joined the national brand plan, and landed in the Hong Kong market with the "same quality and same price", showing the strength and quality of the national brand in the international awards. Wandashan adheres to the virtuous circle of "research and development generation, listing generation, reserve generation and conception generation", and integrates Internet thinking into all links of "planting, production, research and marketing".
 This year's Government Work Report stressed the need to cultivate a large number of Chinese dairy industries and build dairy brands into a beautiful landscape of Chinese agricultural and food brands. Dairy enterprises maintain brand integrity, establish a sense of community of interests, and treat dairy farmers, peers and consumers well; To spread brand voice, hold industry forums, brand promotion, release industry product quality reports, carry out well-off milk action, create sightseeing ranch, "mother line" and other experiential consumption, to create good conditions for brand growth.
 Yu Kangzhen, vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, pointed out that "the industry without quality, entrepreneurship of national brands, is to build a strong dairy industry, to achieve the goal of revitalizing the dairy industry, but also we must take into account the historical responsibility and glorious mission."
